Scientific Advisory Board
Prof. Wolfgang Wurst, co-founder
Prof. Wurst is head of the Institute of Developmental Genetics at the
National Research Centre for Environment and Health (GSF) in Munich. He
has longstanding expertise in neural development and molecular neurogenetics.
He provides important advice in the establishment of animal models of
depression disorders and generates knock-out animals for Affectis' targets.
Prof. Karl-Heinz Altmann
Prof. Altmann is head of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Department of Chemistry
and Applied Biosciences of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in
Zurich. Previously, he worked for over 10 year at Novartis where he became
Global Head of Chemistry at Novartis' Institutes of Biomedical Research.
Prof. Altmann contributes vital counsel on chemistry, pharmacological
profiling and the identification of new drug candidates.
Prof. Hugo Kubinyi
Prof. Kubinyi has had a distinguished career that began at Knoll AG, and
later at BASF AG, where he was responsible for molecular modelling, X-ray
crystallography, and combinatorial chemistry. He is Professor of Pharmaceutical
Chemistry at the University of Heidelberg. Prof. Kubinyi provides essential
knowledge to Affectis regarding drug design, chemical optimisation of
lead structures and SAR.
Prof. Walter Stühmer
Prof. Stühmer is Director of Molecular Biology of Neuronal Signals
at the Max-Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine. Prof. Stühmer
supplies Affectis with valuable insight into neural signalling, ion channels,
and electrophysiology.
